Seoul Human Rights walking tour

2016 Seoul Metropolitan Government & ponytail creative

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, endured colonisation, war, and dictatorship throughout the 20th century. In response, the Human Rights Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Government launched a themed walking tour to trace historical sites linked to human rights abuses from that era.

Our team of four developed audio guides, created visual maps, and designed seven themed routes: the early women’s movement under Japanese rule, the democracy movement from the 1950s to the 1980s, the labour movement of the 1960s and 1970s, and the citizens’ movement of the 1980s.

The guides help people explore historical sites on their own or support group visits with a guide, making the history easy to access for anyone.
